FRED RAMOS
El Salvador is considered one of the most dangerous countries in the world.
Fred Ramos (1986) works as a photographer for El Faro, a website which fearlessly reveals and exposes deep conflicts, violence and gang crime in the country.
Ramos garnered serious notice when he won World Press Photo´s first prize in 2014 for series of photographs of the clothes and items of missing persons in his home country. According to Ramos, 1500 people are reported missing every year in El Salvador.
Ramos’ talk at DOK-festivalen will be a part of a seminar about the security of journalists and the increasing number of threats and dangers visual reporters face around the world.
